On December 20, President Biden shared a video introducing the newest addition to his family – a new puppy. The introduction of Commander Biden was a bit of a shock for Oval Pawffice fans who have actually been waiting for the arrival of a feline to the White House. And it definitely left people asking where is the kitty that First Lady Jill Biden announced was coming.

Well, it seems like fans of the Biden family and their furry friends are in luck. That is because it seems that the President and First Lady are still planning to introduce a kitty to the White House. And while it has been almost a year since we learned a feline was coming, the delay has definitely left a lot of us with questions.

But, here’s what we know now, especially in light of the news that Major Biden has gone to live with friends of the family.

What we know about the feline joining the Biden White House

Back in April of 2021, it was confirmed that the President and First Lady would be bringing home a new kitty member of the family. While there had been talk of a feline joining the family, it was officially confirmed in an interview on NBC’s Today Show.

However, since that announcement was made, we haven’t really heard much more about the kitty in question. It was said that a cat had been adopted and was staying with a foster family, but then the furry friend didn’t join the mix.

Over the course of the year, a lot of things transpired that pushed back the arrival of the cat, including the death of Champ Biden and Major Biden getting additional training because of some White House nipping incidents.

And now, it seems that the kitty in question will in fact be joining the White House in 2022. According to People Magazine, “the Bidens plan to welcome a cat, who is currently residing with a foster family, to the White House in January.”

We don’t know if this is the same cat that has been waiting in the wings or not, but we are excited to meet the new feline and see how the new addition to the family handles the other new addition, Commander Biden!

A kitty is coming to the White House in 2022 and we are pretty excited to see it. But what do you think? Are you surprised it has taken this long? Do you think the kitty will actually join the family in the new year? Let us know in the comments.
