The Hawkeye trailer that released recently features a lot of Lucky the Pizza Dog, a Golden Retriever from the Matt Fraction/David Aja run of Marvel Comics.

The Disney Plus series will star Jeremy Renner (28 Days Later, Arrival, Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol) as Clint Barton dealing with post-Blip life as, perhaps, his time as Ronin during the Infinity War-Endgame gap catches up to him.

The Hawkeye TV show will also introduce Hailee Steinfield’s (Ender’s Game, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, 2010 True Grit) Kate Bishop, who inherits the title, and Black Widow’s Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), who finally got a dog of her own in the final scene of that film, will make a guest appearance.

Anyway, while Yelena is a welcome addition, she’s absent in the Hawkeye trailer, though Lucky the Pizza Dog does make an appearance, wearing reindeer antlers.

Hawkeye trailer has us pumped for Lucky the Pizza Dog and explosive action.

“We’re saving the holidays,” Kate tells Lucky, probably trying to convince herself that getting involved in car chases with a stranger is a fine course of action.

There is lots of clever banter throughout this trailer, and quite a few explosions as well, though it is currently unclear if Hawkeye will be a miniseries like WandaVision or a full show with multiple seasons like Loki.

It remains to be seen exactly how Lucky’s presence fits into the show, though it’s likely that he won’t have quite the recurring presence of Zingo from The Gifted, or the plot importance of Sparky in WandaVision or Hooch from Turner and Hooch
