Only Murders in the Building streamed its Season 1 finale on Hulu on October 19 and while we were here for the mystery being solved and a new mystery popping up in the final moments, that’s not all we were here for. In fact, for us dog lovers, the best moment was the cameo from Oliver’s beloved dog Winnie.

While Winnie was really only present in the first few episodes, she did have an interesting impact on the story line as a whole. That is because Winnie was used as a threat against Oliver and the podcast he and his newfound friends were producing. The poisoning of Winnie was an interesting story because it tied into what happened to Tim Kono and even Evelyn the Cat.

And while we learned rather quickly that Winnie was okay after her near-death experience, Only Murders in the Building did not bring the pup back into the fold. (Although we did see the pup spending time with Oliver’s son, the veterinarian.)

However, in the finale of Season 1, we were given the gift of Winnie’s return after the murder of Tim Kono was solved. Unfortunately, things quickly went south after that.

Winnie may be back on Only Murders in the Building, but for how long

Only Murders in the Building
Only Murders In The Building — Episode 101 — From the minds of Steve Martin, Dan Fogelman and John Hoffman comes a comedic murder-mystery series for the ages. “Only Murders In The Building” follows three strangers (Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez) who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth. As they record a podcast of their own to document the case, the three unravel the complex secrets of the building which stretch back years. Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another. Soon, the endangered trio comes to realize a killer might be living amongst them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it’s too late. Now that there is a new murder mystery in the building with our three intrepid podcasters in the thick of it all, we can’t help but wonder what will happen to Winnie now. After all, as the season ends we see Oliver, Mabel, and Charles being arrested by the police. And that leaves Winnie behind in the building.

Not only are we worried about Winnie being stuck without Oliver, but what happens next season? Will we still be seeing the pup when the show returns? Will she continue to be a part of the action?

While we certainly don’t want Winnie to be poisoned again, we do wonder what could be next for this pup.

Next. Titans will be back for Season 4 on HBO Max. dark

But what do you think? Were you happy to see Winnie making her finale comeback? Do you think Only Murders in the Building will find a way to incorporate the Bulldog into more of the story in Season 2? We would love your theories and thoughts.
