Which Muppet Dog is Darren Criss spotted with in Muppets Haunted Mansion?
The Muppets Haunted Mansion is set to premiere on Disney Plus this October, and recently we were treated to a full length trailer for the upcoming film. In that trailer, we get a video jam packed with Muppets and stars galore. And in one blink and you miss it scene, we see Darren Criss in a graveyard with one of the Muppet Dogs (also can we just say we love that Criss is part of this adventure?!).
However, we aren’t exactly sure which Muppet Dog we are seeing. But we have a guess. And if it is the dog we think it is, we are beyond excited for what this could mean for future Muppet adventures.
So which Muppet Dog is Darren Criss hanging out with in the Muppets Haunted Mansion?
Is Sprocket the Muppet Dog we see hanging out with Darren Criss in the Muppets Haunted Mansion?
Is the Muppets Haunted Mansion giving us Fraggle Rock‘s Sprocket? We don’t know yet, but it sure looks like that’s who Darren Criss is spending time with in the cemetery. Considering Sprocket was a pretty big part of the Fraggle Rock series in his own way, he is definitely a memorable Muppet for fans of the series. And it certainly looks like that is the pup Criss is hanging out with.
If the Muppet Dog in the cemetery is in fact Sprocket, this would not be the first time that he has shown up in a Muppets movie, as he was also part of A Muppet Family Christmas, according to Bark Post. Not only that, but Sprocket has also popped up in the Muppet Christmas Carol and even Muppet Treasure Island. He may not be the first Muppet Dog we think of when it comes to the Muppets (that would be Rowlf honestly), but he should definitely be towards the top of the list, all things considered.
We can’t wait for the Muppets Haunted Mansion to figure out whether or not Darren Criss’ Muppet Dog is in fact Sprocket. And of course, we can’t wait to see if any other Muppet Dogs (besides Rowlf who we definitely see in more than one scene in the trailer) pop up in the new Halloween special from the Muppets.
