We had an official Lucky the Pizza Dog sighting in the first Hawkeye trailer and while it was barely more than a tease, it was still worth it.

On September 13, Disney Plus finally released the first trailer for their upcoming limited series, Hawkeye. And while it was a lot more campy than we expected, leaning into the idea of a Die Hard Christmas, it was also everything we could have hoped for and more.

But for us, it was all about Lucky the Pizza Dog. Don’t get me wrong, we are excited for Hawkeye to get his own adventure. He really is the only Avenger to basically be a sidekick more than anything else. So him getting his own series is a definite win. However, that doesn’t negate the fact that we are here for Lucky,

Lucky the Pizza Dog makes their Marvel debut in the Hawkeye trailer

For those unfamiliar with this comic book dog, he is an ordinary Golden Retriever, but with a sense of loyalty that is far above those of many other superheroes. He has a passion for pizza, which is of course how he ended up with the moniker “pizza dog.”

Lucky saved Clint (aka Hawkeye) from a man out to get him because the Avenger had been one of the few people to show him kindness. However, because of this act of heroism, Lucky (whose original name was Arrow) ended up losing his eye.

Although Lucky has to deal with vision impairment, that has not stopped the pup from being at Hawkeye and Kate Bishop’s sides when needed. He may be a standard Golden Retriever, but that doesn’t make him any less amazing and super.
