Roswell New Mexico gave us a “Bittersweet Symphony” that included secrets and the return of a very special pup, Lucky the dog.

In episode 4, Roswell gave us a new addition to the series, and it was one we had long been waiting for – a dog. The episode saw Mr. Jones doing a walk about town and during a bit of a temper tantrum in the desert, he accidentally shoots a stray dog. He then heals the pup since he never meant to harm a living thing, and especially not a dog.

After healing the pup, Mr. Jones named him Lucky and allowed the dog to join him in his random adventures. But the thing is that last week, we never saw Lucky. He wasn’t hanging around with Max, and we didn’t really see much of Mr. Jones either.

But in the latest episode, “Bittersweet Symphony,” Lucky was back in action. And for many of us, it was a clue that maybe something wasn’t right in Roswell.

The return of Lucky should definitely have been a clue that maybe this wasn’t Max in that deputy uniform. And while it did end up being a bit of a clue for Liz in the final moments of the episode, it was definitely not soon enough.

Of course, that tease of who was actually walking around town wasn’t the only time we saw Lucky. Because when it comes to Mr. Jones, Lucky is his faithful sidekick. And that meant that when we all learned the truth of who was actually wearing that uniform, we got to see Lucky standing (or sitting) by his owner.

We love the fact that Roswell has added a dog to the story line and that the pup is actually rather important to one of our characters. Even though Lucky’s owner isn’t necessarily a good guy (at least from what we can tell), we are loving this pup and how he was a major clue in “Bittersweet Symphony.”
