It’s Fido’s time to shine (again) in the world of pop culture! That’s because Doggy Con 2021 is heading to Atlanta this month.

This is not the first time that Doggy Con has taken place, but after the last year and a half (at least), we are all about finding ways to shine a spotlight on our pups. Doggy Con is said to be an event that helps us pay tribute to one of the biggest pop culture events (Comic Con), but it is all about seeing our dogs taking up the cosplay role.

According to the event website, the goal of Doggy Con 2021 in Atlanta, Georgia is to help the community. Specifically, they explain, “Help us make the WoodRUFF Dog Park a reality! Our Doggy Con fundraising goal is $15,000; your contribution is essential to bring this new amenity to the Downtown Atlanta neighborhood. With your support, we hope to break ground in 2022.”

It’s all about the dogs at Atlanta’s Doggy Con 2021

This dog-friendly event features a costume pageant with an entry fee of $20 (and the first 50 pups who enter will get a convention goody bag!), plenty of refreshments, vendors, music, and so much more. Walk around, see the sights and costumes, and shop from all the vendors. Sounds like a perfect summer morning.

The con is set to take place at Atlanta’s Woodruff Park on August 28 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. While contestants in the pageant have to pay an entry fee, spectators are invited to attend for free, although donations are appreciated as this event is all about helping to build a full on Dog Park for the community.

Honestly, this sounds like a fun event where our pups can be anything they want from Spiderdog to LabraThor. And for those of us who love dogs and pop culture, this feels like a must attend event.

What do you think fellow dog lovers? Would you and your pup take part in a Doggy Con? If you are in the Atlanta area, will you and your pup be attending? Let us know!
