What Alabama high school feline mascots are out there?

Quite a few, actually – far more than there are bird mascots or animal mascots.

As part of our Dog O’Day research of all the animal-related high school animal mascots throughout the United States, we’re starting with the beginning of the alphabet in the Yellowhammer State.

High school sports’ main governing body is the Alabama High School Athletic Association, though other smaller governing bodies exist for private schools.  7A is the largest class, while 1A is the smallest.

The AHSAA was founded in 1921, and sanctions championships in baseball, basketball (boys and girls), cheer, cross country (boys and girls), football, soccer (boys and girls), softball, swimming and diving (boys and girls), tennis, track and field (indoor and outdoor, boys and girls), volleyball and wrestling.

Our sources for research were MaxPreps and Mascot DB, we apologize if we left your school out by mistake.
