Derek Hough’s dogs and cats are taking up all the space on his phone’s photo gallery, a relatable problem that is quite understandable.
This comes from a People Magazine article published earlier this month.
Hough (pronounced Huff), a professional dancer/actor/choreographer who is currently a judge on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, shares two German Shepherd/Husky mixes, Romi and Luna, with his girlfriend Hayley Erbert, who has appeared with him in dance routines for the Disney Family Singalong specials.
They also have two cats, Palo the orange tabby and Lily the gray cat.
“It’s getting to be a real problem!,” Hough told People. “I’ll be trying to find a photo and it’s just cat, cat, dog, dog – more cat, more dog.”
Derek Hough dogs and cats are taking over his phone, which is pretty amazing.
All their pets have big personalities, which makes sense, as that seems to run in the family.
“No matter what else is going on in your life, there’s this look about them that says ‘it’s going to be okay,'” Hough told People.
Hough grew up in the Salt Lake City suburb of Sandy, Utah, later moving to London after his parents’ divorce. He currently has a recurring role in season 2 of the Disney Plus sitcom High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, as Zack, a Broadway star who returns to the fictional Salt Lake City North High School to direct the drama program’s production of Beauty and the Beast, at the same time as East High puts on the same production.
In real life, Derek Hough’s sister Julianna is also an actress/dancer/singer who starred in the 2011 remake of Footloose, and dabbled in country music, and they are cousins of Ross Lynch, known for playing one of the lead roles in the Disney Channel sitcom Austin and Ally.
Hough has won Dancing with the Stars six times, along with two runner-up finishes and a third-place run during his 17 seasons as a pro dancer.
He’s also teaming up with Purina ONE for their 28 Day Challenge, as Purina is donating $1 for every person who signs up for the taste-testing challenge, with funds going to the Petfinder Foundation.
Both dogs were rescues; Romi acts all “chill like George Clooney” while Luna is a crazy pandemic pup. Palo enjoys doing yoga with his humans, while Lily is more of a couch potato like Chloe from Secret Life of Pets.
We hope that the Hough pets continue to steal all the attention for quite a while..
