There was a special showing of the new Cruella movie at the Palace of Holyroodhouse that included some very important guests. And while the headliners of the viewing might seem to be Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, this was a chance to honor NHS Staff who have worked tirelessly during the pandemic.
In a post shared to the Royal Family Instagram account, we learned that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge received permission from the Queen to attend a drive-in premiere showing of Cruella “in a Land Rover owned by The Duke of Edinburgh.”
However, we learned a bit more about this entire evening thanks to the Cruella Instagram account. Not only did Prince William and Duchess Catherine get a chance to meet the actress who portrays a young Cruella in the movie, but this was an opportunity for the royals and the NHS Charities Together to honor the men and women who have worked hard to help people during the pandemic.
Obviously, we are all about the charity aspect of this event and the sheer joy that seems to be on the Duke and Duchess‘ faces as they watched the premiere together. But that’s not the only reason we are excited by this entire evening of Disney magic.
Cruella garners some high profile guests at their drive-in premiere at The Palace of Holyroodhouse
One of the things that we were pretty excited to see, thanks to the photographs from this event, was actually the Panther De Ville with the Devil license plate. As fans of all things 101 Dalmatians and Cruella de Vil, we are here for this iconic car.
And sure we find it amazing that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had a chance to see the movie as part of a drive-in experience, but we are all about the entire evening. From the classic car that we know (and in some cases love) from the movies, to the fact that this was a chance to support the NHS staff in a more unique way, this is a night that is worth obsessing over.
