On June 11, Prince William and Kate Middleton had the opportunity to meet some therapy dogs in training, including one named Prince Harry.

During a trip to the English countryside, Prince William and Kate Middleton had the opportunity to meet some very special dogs. After a recent chat with mental health campaigners, Kerry Irving and his wife, during a garden party at Buckingham Palace, it was time to meet the therapy dogs in training that the royal couple had discussed with the campaigners. And this included one pup whose name happens to be Prince Harry of Winterfells.

According to People Magazine, the visit to Keswick, Cumbria allowed Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge an opportunity to meet with the people of the village, as well as the animals. And while the future therapy dogs were not the only animals that the Duchess would get to interact with on this visit, we are all about a dog named after Kate Middleton’s brother-in-law.

Of course, Prince Harry was not the only dog that the royal couple met, as they also had the opportunity to meet Max, a service dog who has been with the Irvings since 2006 when a car crash left Kerry Irving “virtually house-bound.” Max helped Irving recover and is now helping to train fellow dogs Prince Harry and Paddy the Legend of the Lakes in order to make them the perfect therapy dogs.

Considering Prince William and Kate Middleton are dog lovers themselves, as well as strong advocates for mental health awareness, it makes sense that they would take the time to meet these pups. And of course, there is always a lot of humor involved when one of the pups in question shares a name with someone you know (and love).

The royal couple actually has their own dog, Lupo, who has been with the family since 2012. And while petting Irving’s dogs, the Duchess of Cambridge apparently told them that she may need to bring Lupo to see them in order to instill some of the calmness that the therapy dogs exuded.

While this visit to the countryside was about a lot more than getting to pet a dog named Prince Harry, it was certainly a fun moment for both the royal couple and dog lovers everywhere. We love a feel-good story like this, especially when it helps to shine a spotlight on therapy dogs.

And of course, the pictures and even video that has been posted about the moment certainly help make this story even more fun.
