Pooch Perfect episode 8 was all about the grand finale, or as they said it, fur-nalé! We were down to the final three teams, all ready to hash it out for the grand prize of $100,000 and the Pooch Perfect trophy, all courtesy of Purina!

Who will take the cake (or should that be dog biscuits)? Let’s find out!

Pooch Perfect episode 8 premiered on ABC on Tuesday, May 18, and let’s just say that there was a lot of tears, smiles, nerves, and every other emotion(s) in between! We took a walk down memory lane for one team, and dove into the emotional stories of two others.

First up, the Immunity Puppertunity challenge – Bride and Groomer! The teams, for this particular Immunity Puppertunity challenge had not one, but two different pups to groom – one to represent each member of the couple getting married.

Let’s get ready for Pooch Perfect episode 8 – the last challenges for all teams!

The winner of this first initial challenge got first pick of pups for the last and final Ultimutt Challenge….a very big deal.

Here’s what each team did for this eighth Immunity Puppertunity challenge this week:

First up, we had Macie and Corina – their groom was one crazy and wild pup, always shaking off his tiny little top hat and bow tie; however, it was still super cute nonetheless! Their bride had a pink bow tie with tons of flowers and sparkles to go around – kinda like a canine corsage.

Second up, we had Gabriel and Monse – they had two grooms in order to represent Gabriel and his own husband! It was super sweet to see his take on it, and Gabriel not feeling like he absolutely had to have a bride and a groom – you go, Gabe! One groom had a black suit and collar on, while the other groom had a more white and grey look going on – super cute (and yes, I’m gonna steal those pups, so definitely don’t look for them at my house if you see me with them)!

Third up, and finishing up this eighth and final Immunity Puppertunity challenge, we had Alyssa and Justin – their groom represented was the tiniest, cutest pup ever and Justin (newly engaged) with the classic orange and black tux and bright orange sleeves on his right and left front legs/paws; their groom represented Alyssa (newly engaged) with a gorgeous flower crown with an even more beautiful flower and berries crown around his neck – gorg, let me tell ya, gorg!

And the winners of this fifth Immunity Puppertunity….Macie and Corina (hmm….)!

The second half of the episode was occupied by Pooch Perfect’s eighth Ultimutt Challenge….The Grand Fur-nalé!

The rules? There were none; no restrictions, in fact – full freedom here with this one this final week!

Now, here’s what each team decided to transform their pups into on the official Dog Walk:

  • Alyssa and Justin: one half/side of the dog represented their dogs that they missed so dearly back at home, while the other half/side of the dog represented Alyssa herself, and a little pieces of each of the challenges that her and Justin had completed all while on Pooch Perfect together. Super colorful, full of rainbows – love, love, absolutely love!
  • Gabriel and Monse: one half/side of the dog represented Gabriel – a coi fish swimming against the tide, up to the tallest mountain and becoming a dragon (according to legend), while the other half/side of the dog represented Monse – a hummingbird to not only represent her culture and where she’s from, but also her journey flying free on the show too – full of colors as well!
  • Macie and Corina: one half/side of the dog represented Macie – the green dragon, while the other half/side of the dog represented Corina – the strong and everlasing red phoenix! They were super emotional with their colorful stores and dogs alike nonetheless!

And finally after all of that….

My Personal Pick for Pooch Perfect: Alyssa and Justin (rainbow pup representation)!

I personally can’t choose my least favorite, though.

WINNING TEAM: Macie and Corina

*Note: Unfortunately, I don’t think the other teams stood a chance, and here’s why – they had a sob story (talking about Macie and Corina here). First off, their Immunity Puppertunity challenge win was not deserved in my personal opinion, as more looks included more and were more put together, and their final look was totally outshined by Alyssa and Justin’s, but because all they said was that they missed their dogs, they didn’t even get a well-deserved “Me gusta!”. *

Alyssa and Justin were robbed, let me tell ya, robbed!
