This week’s episode of Pooch Perfect was by far the coolest of them all! We all glowed in the dark and shone as big as we possibly could! Be sure to stay tuned every Tuesday night at 7p.m. CST for more colorful and creative dog grooming creations alike!
Pooch Perfect episode 4 premiered on ABC on Tuesday, April 20, and let’s just say that there was a lot of color glowing pooches going on this week – and yes, we absolutely loved it!
This week’s opener:
"“Welcome everyody to Pooch Perfect! Or for all the dogs watching at home: ‘arr arr woof woof’!” ~Rebel Wilson, Host"
Let’s get ready for Pooch Perfect episode 4, mixed with some colorful Prideful rainbow cheer!
“Release the Hounds”!
First up, the Immunity Puppertunity challenge – Glow in the Bark Challenge!
Here’s what each team did for this third Immunity Puppertunity challenge this week:
First up was Gabriel and Monse who chose to do transform their gorgeous pup into a super scary and glowy scorpion! The groom was colorful, adorable, and really did transform under the blacklights!
Second up was engaged couple Philip and Josh who chose to transform their gorgeous pup into a tribute for Philip’s father. They incorporated his Dad’s biker name, colorful paws and a mohawk, as well as a gorgeous pair of angel wings and a cancer ribbon as well!
Next was Riza and Sarah who chose to transform their gorgeous pup into an adorable little skeleton. It glowed gorgeously and really did show off a dog’s true anatomy.
Fourth in line was the mother-son pairing of Deb and Jordan, who chose to transform their gorgeous pup into a brick wall, with glowing graffiti, as well as a classic pigeon. While their glow wasn’t perfect, the dog was still super cute and I wanna steal him and take him home, that’s for sure!
Then came Adrian and Bria who chose to transform their adorable little pup into a cute galaxy with the most adorable tongue sticking out. The stars glowed, the color was gorgeous, and this little pup really did steal the whole entire show, I’ll tell ya that!
Next were dating couple Alyssa and Justin who chose to transform their adorable little pup into a jellyfish with a seaweed crown! The shapes were perfect, everything glowed amazingly, and the pup was so cute!
Seventh in line were best friends Macie and Corina, who chose to transform their adorable dog into an octopus! They got the spots, the shapes, the tentacles, and the colors all the same. Textures galore!
And the winners of this third Immunity Puppertunity….Macie and Corina!
The second half of the episode was occupied by Pooch Perfect’s fourth Ultimutt Challenge….The Pet Gala (a play on words of The Met Gala), which also worked as a nice tie-in with the 2021 edition of the Oscars, which aired on ABC on Sunday, April 25.
The rules? Take a normal adorable pup and essentially and completely transform them into a pooch fit for the red carpet, or Dog Walk in this case!
Now, here’s what each team decided to transform their pups into on the official Dog Walk:
- Philip & Josh (beautifully intricately groomed Poodle, twisty and sparkly turquoise design on the side of the dog, gemstones throughout the body, going towards the tail/down the hind legs, plus an adorably shaved and carved out little goatee right on pup’s cute little chin)
- Riza & Sarah (absolutely adorably groomed tiny little Bichon, carved out pink tutu dress, pearly dangly earrings around the ears, matching little neck tutu carved out with gem accents, and a super sparkly silver bow to top it all off)
- Macie & Corina (gorgeously groomed labradoodle of some sort of variety, salsa dress like paws and feet dyed a gorgeous emerald green color, unique tail/feathers design, a tiny little wirey black hat, and gems and rhinestones throughout the whole bodice and chest as a whole)
- Adrian & Bria (majestically groomed grey Afghan Hound, tips of the fur near the paws and feet dyed a super pretty salmon-red color, a sparkly headband/hat to match the sparkly “dress” as well, and most importantly, the black cape of mystery capable of the big reveal)
- Gabriel & Monse (gorgeously groomed labradoodle – we think – gorgeous dyed black and red pattern of the luxury brand Burbery, a black groomed furry scarf, cleanly grommed black-dyed paws, black dyed flowing-in-the-wind tail to finish/top it all off as a whole)
- Alyssa & Justin (gorgeous little mini poodle with unique grooming patterns on all four paws, pink flowers, blue floral-like accents, green leaves, sparkly patterns with black accents on the ears with one to match with the cinched paw/foot as well as the hind legs and booty, beautiful baby blue and white rose-like collar design, same blue, pink, and green topper floral-type design on the head, green leaf-dyed tail to match the other floral designs throughout, lack tip dyed paws/feet, probably the most energetic pup this week on the Dog Walk)
- Deb & Jordan (adorably groomed mini black poodle with the most wiggly wagging tail of all of Pooch Perfect thus far, gems and a tightly groomed bodice pattern, gorg overall let me tell ya)
And finally after all of that….
My Personal Pick for Best in Show: Alyssa & Justin – I absolutely loved the roses, leaves, and baby blue accents throughout it all. The gold luster dust was a gorgeous, refined touch as well
I personally can’t choose my least favorite, though.
BEST IN SHOW: Deb & Jordan (swirls and diamonds throughout entire bodice)
ELIMINATED TEAM: Adrian & Bria (fabulous Afghan with black mystery cape and sparkly dress/headabnd to match it all)
That’s a wrap for Pooch Perfect episode 4, Glow Big or Glow Home! As Rebel said it herself: “Good Night and Good Dog!”
