This week’s episode of Pooch Perfect was by far the most colorful of them all! We celebrated Pride this week, and all-things rainbow! Be sure to stay tuned every Tuesday night at 7p.m. CST for more colorful and creative dog grooming creations alike!

Pooch Perfect episode 3 premiered on April 13 and let’s just say that there was a lot of color and rainbows going on this week – and yes, we absolutely loved it!

This week, the episode opened up with host Rebel Wilson dishing out the rules to all three judges of the competition – with the ‘no butt dragging’ rule, that would definitely be interesting if one of the judges did do that; oh boy!

This week’s opener:

"“Welcome to Pooch Perfect! The most paw-sitive show on TV!” ~Rebel Wilson, Host"

Let’s get ready for Pooch Perfect episode 3, mixed with some colorful Prideful rainbow cheer!

Upon announcing the first immunity challenge of the week, Rebel didn’t do her normal introduction of releasing the hounds and giving them their stipulations for the grooms. Host, Wilson, tells the teams to hang on a second; she goes backstage for something unusual.

She comes out with all goats! In the beginning of the episode Host, Wilson, told the teams that they need to always be the G.O.A.T. of creative dog grooming, hence inspiring the animals themselves!

“Release the Kids!”

First up, the Immunity Puppertunity challenge – free-range creative goat grooming!

“Groomers, your time is pup!”

Here’s what each team did for this third Immunity Puppertunity challenge this week:

First up was Deb and Jordan who chose to transform their beautiful goat into a fancy little leopard! Down to the spots and all, they put a leopard tie (safely) around the neck and captured it all!

Second in line was Blake and Bobby who chose to transform their beautiful goat into a big and tall dinosaur! A green body, perfect brown spots, and a little feather on the tail to truly tie it all as one!

Next up was Riza and Sarah who chose to transform their beautiful goat into a gorgeous flowery fairy goddess (the goat’s name Fairy)! The flowers were colorful and flawless and pink, and the blue bow as well!

Then came Philip and Josh who chose to transform their beautiful goat into a true Mardi Gras party-goer! The purple and gold colors, the falsies, all of the embellishments and paintings on the actual goat itself, the feathers, the beads, and the golden-pained saxophone on the side bodice made me feel like I was there myself!

Fifth up came Alyssa and Justin who chose to transform their beautiful goat into a little flower garden! Green feet, pink blossom flowers, and the blue accents with gemstones were super fancy!

Next up was Gabriel and Monse who chose to transform their beautiful goat into a flying goat/unicorn! The light pink carved-out wings, the light purple hearts accents, the flowers on the frayed-out tail, and the gemstones made her look like a princess herself!

Then came Macie and Corina who chose to transform their beautiful goat into a fiery ball of flames! The fiery accent colors, the mohawk, the colored beard hairs, and all else was super hot!

Eighth in line and finishing up this third Immunity Puppertunity challenge was Adrian and Bria who chose to transform their beautiful goat into a fire and ice sort of goat/animal! The differing colors in the sides, the right coloring applications, the teal accent coloring on the tail, mixed with the gorgeous technique and the tiny little gemstones accents really tied it all together for me as a whole and as one in general!

And the winners of this third Immunity Puppertunity….Adrian and Bria (no surprise)!

The second half of the episode was occupied by Pooch Perfect’s third Ultimutt Challenge….The Pride Paw-Rade; the rules? Take a normal adorable pup and essentially transform their look into something inspired by LGBTQI Pride Awareness!

“Release the Hounds!”

“Groomers, your time is pup!”

Now, here’s what each team decided to transform their pups into on the official Dog Walk:

  • Gabriel & Monse (all-inclusive Pride Flag painted on the sides, pink and teal curled fur near the ears, the floofiest rainbow-colored tail, gorgeous rainbow bow on her forehead/booty)
  • Blake & Bobby (rainbow puzzle pieces all connected together on the back (clean shaven), black and red front legs representing No Hate, brick walls on the back legs representing a gay rights civil rights movement(A.K.A. The Stonewall Riot(s), gorgeous falsies, rainbow ears and head with fluffy white puff balls at the ends of each of them)
  • Philip & Josh (gorgeous, yet subtle rainbow unicorn wings, beautiful rainbow-colored crest on the head, yellow paws, subtly pink throughout the entire bodice, gorgeous and deep-concentrated yellow, red, blue, and green-colored super floofy as ever tail, gorgeous rainbow-themed-and-colored rhinestones hear her back and booty)
    • Inspired by all of the Lisa Frank horses and unicorns, not just all one length, as Philip himself put it that way!
  • Alyssa & Justin (documented the struggles of hiding who LGBTQ+ members of the community are, hidden rainbow, bright rainbow flower on the pup’s face – adorable)
    • Macie & Corina (represented all the LGBTQ+ flags, including two rainbow hearts on the side of the bodice, gender representation – all of them – stickers on the front and sides of the pup)
    • Riza & Sarah (butterfly bows on the ears, rainbows and gemstones throughout the bodice, colorful tail, colorful dyed paws and just overall cuteness)
    • Deb & Jordan (colorful rainbow wings on the side, colorful floofiest tail of all, clean groom, and reminded me of my heavenly sweet boy fur baby as well)
    • Adrian & Bria (rainbow leopard spots and colors all over alike, fabulous falsies, gemstone accents and clean floofy grooming overall – well done immunity puppertunity winners!)

And finally after all of that….

My Personal Pick for Best in Show: Alyssa & Justin – representation of all those who have to feel like they need to hide who they are was a beautiful thing to incorporate into her groom this week!

I personally can’t choose my least favorite, though.

BEST IN SHOW: Philip  & Josh (rainbow unicorn)

ELIMINATED TEAM: Blake & Bobby (rainbow puzzle pieces)

That’s a wrap for Pooch Perfect episode 3, Live Loud and Groom Proud! As Rebel said it herself: “Good Night and Good Dog!”
