It’s a new day and that means we have some new First Dogs news. In fact, it seems that Major Biden is in the news again. So of course, Champ is back in action as his brother’s champion.

According to CNN, it seems that Major was once again involved in a “biting incident” at the White House. In fact, they are reporting that it was the kind of incident that required medical attention.

However, as dog owners we all know that when a pup gets toothy with you, of course we are going to make sure that everything is okay. And this is why we had to turn our attention to the First Dogs social media, where we figured we would learn more about what actually happened with Major Biden.

In a post on Instagram that seemed to come direct from Champ, the senior pup of the White House explained that, “being walked by different hoomans every day can be destabilizing for a young dog. Major needs one hooman only, a behaviorist/trainer who knows what she/he is doing.”

But that was not all Champ had to say about the situation, as the senior pup also pointed out that it is just as important for the humans to know how to approach a new dog as well.

And we agree! Just because we are dog lovers, that doesn’t mean we can just walk up to a strange dog and expect them not to react in a negative way. We are strangers and especially when we are talking about rescue dogs, it is important to understand that they need to know who you are first.

Obviously there is a lot more to this entire situation than just Major nipping at someone or even someone having to speak to the medical team at the White House. Hopefully things settle down enough for both Champ and Major Biden so that they can enjoy their time as First Dogs instead of having to constantly defend themselves.
