The Monster Mutt Dalmatian Galaxy will be joining the pack when the trucks of Monster Jam take on AT&T Stadium (home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys) in Arlington this weekend as the 2020 Stadium Championship Series comes to a close.

The Monster Mutt Dalmatian Galaxy will officially become the second Dalmatian variant following the Dalmatian Ice as part of the Fire vs Ice team event in 2019, and the fifth actual Monster Mutt truck – there is also the original brown Monster Mutt, the spotted Monster Mutt Dalmatian, the black and tan Monster Mutt Rottweiler, and the now-retired rusty brindle Monster Mutt Junkyard Dog.

(There are also the toy-inspired trucks of the Inverse Monster Mutt Dalmatian, Monster Mutt Husky and hot pink Monster Mutt Poodle, which are all also playable in the Steel Titans 2 video game but are not actual trucks.)

The driver will be Linsey Read, who typically drives the Scooby-Doo truck.

The Monster Mutt Dalmatian Galaxy joins the Monster Jam pack this weekend.

“I’m very excited that they chose me to be able to go out there and debut it,” new Monster Mutt Galaxy driver Read told Dog O’Day in a phone interview earlier this month. “You know, Candice Jolly in the Monster Mutt Dalmatian, she has done such an amazing job at creating that brand and creating that fanbase, so I just get to go out there and try to live up to everything that she’s done and created.”

While the exact details of the truck will not be known by the public until it takes to the track, Read stated that it is bright purple, though even she has not seen it in person yet because of the pandemic.

It will also have space-themed elements like planets and stars, and according to a monster trucks wiki page, other trucks within the Gears and Galaxies toy line include EarthShaker, Maximum Destruction, Soldier Fortune and Son-uva Digger as Team Gear (astronaut themed) and the Monster Mutt Dalmatian, El Toro Loco, Megalodon, Pirate’s Curse and Zombie as Team Galaxy (space-themed).

The Monster Mutt Galaxy is currently the only member of this Gears and Galaxy toy line slated to become a real truck; the original debuted in 2002, the Dalmatian joined in 2007, the Rottweiler entered in 2011, and the Junkyard Dog just ran the 2016 season.

As with all Monster Jam merchandise, it can be purchased online at the Monster Jam Superstore, with diecasts also appearing in stores like Walmart and Target.

Other drivers Read competed with in the 2021 Stadium Championship Series included the Anderson siblings Adam (Megalodon), Ryan (Bakugan Dragonoid) and Krysten (Grave Digger), Jamey Garner (Over Bored), Bryce Kenny (Great Clips Mohawk Warrior), Jim Koehler (Avenger), Todd LeDuc (Monster Energy), Tom Meents (Max-D Fire), Bari Musawwir (Zombie), Cory Rummell (Rage) and Cole Vearn (Black Pearl).
