We already know that Skechers offers comfortable and fashionable footwear. But did you know they are also a charitable company? Recently we shared news about a partnership with Doug the Pug that would help raise money for the Petco Foundation. And now we know just how successful these types of campaigns have been.

According to a press release from the company, we have learned that Skechers has reached a major milestone when it comes to their charitable efforts. It seems that they have been able to contribute over $6.2 million to support and save over one million cats and dogs in shelters.

And how have they done this? It is all thanks to their BOBS from Skechers line, as well as the partnership they have with the Petco Foundation. If you’re wondering about the BOBS line, they were originally a collection of footwear that was meant to have a philanthropic twist to them.

When they were originally introduced, this line was all about helping to donate shoes to children in need. However, since it launched, the purpose of the line has expanded to include helping shelter animals.

Skechers has been able to raise over $6 million to support shelter animals

As part of their effort to expand their charitable footprint, the BOBS from Skechers line includes their collaboration with Doug the Pug, and another with James Goldcrown. And that’s not all, as they have even expanded beyond footwear to include pet accessories and more.

Basically, Skechers is doing everything they can to do good in the world, and that means helping shelter animals in need. The fact that they are doing in a way that is fashionable and cute is the icing on the cake, at least for us.

According to the president of Skechers, Michael Greenberg:

"From its inception, BOBS from Skechers was about giving back—first to children in need with new footwear, and then in 2015 to animals in need. It’s incredible to see how we’ve raised over $6 million for animals, including over $2.7 million for Petco Foundation’s extensive animal shelter and support network in just two years. To see us reaching these milestones in a year this challenging speaks volumes about our consumers’ engagement and belief in the BOBS movement."

When it comes to supporting charity, and especially shelter animals, it is clear to us that Skechers is doing their part. And that means we need to get our hands on a few pairs of super cute shoes that are also doing some good in the world.
