Holland the Pup wins Petco Foundation grant

Holland the Pup won a grant from the Petco Foundation Holiday Wishes contest.

Our friend Holland the Pup won a grant from the Petco Foundation Holiday Wishes contest.

Thanks to her story of being a rescue pup who travels around the country, eating tasty food and visiting baseball stadiums and hockey arenas, she and her dad Adam Vosding won $5,000 for the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, which is where she came from, in addition to a Petco shopping spree.

Holland is a black Lab mix who can be followed on Instagram at the handle @HollandThePup. She’s a huge fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Bay Rays and Florida Gators.

There will be a celebration event held at the Petco located in Brandon, Florida, at 2434 W Brandon Blvd, at 10:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday, December 10.

They could win up to $25,000 more for the Humane Society of Tampa Bay through the People’s Choice portion of the contest, which features 55 winners and another 50 honorable mentions.

The People’s Choice voting runs from Friday, December 6 to Friday, December 20 at 1 p.m. ET.

“When we hit the road [for the first time], I immediately rolled down the back windows of my truck and Holland popped her head out to catch the breeze and smell all the smells,” Vosding wrote in their entry story. “Every time I roll that window down and see the excited look on her face, I realize that I have the best travel companion a guy could ever ask for.”

Some of the adventures Holland has been on include playing in the Pacific Ocean, living on a dude ranch in Colorado for a summer, tailgating and enjoying barbecue outside Arrowhead Stadium (home of the Kansas City Chiefs), and touring Dodger Stadium.

She’s also met Vegas Golden Knights superfan Bark-Andre Furry and helped us here at Dog O’Day with drafting the ultimate canine baseball teams.
