Panera Bread orders raising funds for Dayton Humane Society
Panera Bread orders in Ohio can raise funds for the Dayton Humane Society.
Here at Dog O’Day we learned of this through the Dayton Daily News newspaper.
From now until the end of February, customers can round up their order’s price (to the nearest dollar) with all funds raised going to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. Donations can be made both within the store and through the drive-thru, whichever option customers feel more comfortable with.
The partnership is called Round Up of Rover, and will go towards helping take care of animals in need throughout the Miami Valley area of the Buckeye State, which is in the southwestern part of the state.
Panera Bread orders can help out local pets in need.
“Together when we roll up our change we are changing the life of a pet in need,” Brian Weltge, president and CEO of the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, told the Daily News.
There are four Panera Bread locations within Dayton itself participating, as are locations in the suburbs of Beavercreek, Centerville, Englewood, Huber Heights, Kettering, Miamisburg, Springfield and Troy.
Dayton is known as the home of the Wright Brothers, and also boasts the University of Dayton, home of the first NCAA Tournament in the late 1930s. (Wright State University is also located within the city.)
Panera is known for its bagels, sandwiches and salads, though they also have pastries and coffees on their menu as well, and their dedicated fans are quite devoted to the restaurant.
Like with Starbucks, it tends to have a rather upscale urban atmosphere inside, making it convenient for freelance writers or students needing a public place to work for a change of pace.
Tasty food and helping a good cause makes this a terrific idea in our opinion, and we hope it’s a very successful fundraiser.
