Big Lots is here for animal lovers on Thanksgiving 2020
Big Lots is our answer to avoiding grocery stores on Thanksgiving Day
If you need dog food, but don’t want to head to the grocery store on Thanksgiving, we have the perfect alternative for you. Thanks to a commercial on YouTube (of all places), we learned that Big Lots is actually planning to be open on Thanksgiving Day! And while they won’t be open all day, the fact that they will apparently be open starting at 7 a.m. until at least 1 p.m. means we don’t have to rush to the grocery store for a last minute bag of dog food.
The thing about Big Lots is that they are perfect for last minute pick ups and snagging a wide variety of products, from groceries to towels to pet supplies. And while all of these things make it a great discount shop, our focus is definitely on their pet products.

Big Lots has what we need for our dogs this Thanksgiving
Having shopped the store for a wide variety of products, I admit that I am always quite impressed with what they have for our dogs (and cats too). And if you realize that you are out of dog food, want to pick up treats, or even need pee pads on Thanksgiving, you can definitely count on Big Lots to have what you need.
And of course, the real bonus of the store being open on the holiday is knowing that you can avoid the grocery store, which is good news for those of us who have no desire to get swept up in the mess that is last-minute holiday dinner shopping.
If you happen to snag a cozy dog bed or maybe a holiday sweater for your pup while you’re there, we are totally not judging you. After all, we are here for all the spoiling our pups deserve.
