White Claw ship and dog captain go viral on TikTok

A White Claw ship captained by a hearty sea dog is the latest viral dogs video.

People (and animals) on TikTok are very creative. The latest proof of this? A White Claw ship one user made for their dog.

None of our staff being on TikTok ourselves, here at Dog O’Day we learned of this through the food website Delish.

A TikTokker with the username @TWHancock uploaded a video the other day on the patio or driveway of their Pug setting sail on their own sailing vessel, which was constructed entirely out of used cans and empty boxes of White Claw.

(It’s summertime, and the coronavirus pandemic is showing no end in sight, so what else are you going to do? This is a really amazing crafting project, honestly.)

“Imagine what else I could do with three more months of quarantine…” the caption read.

The White Claw ship is outfitted complete with a sail, a flag, and even several cannons (which could be helpful when tanks made of Budweiser, for example, show up.) What’s more, it even floats in the pool!

And its canine captain is dressed for the occasion, of course, cosplaying as a pirate as the main theme music from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides playing over the action. Stranger Tides was the fourth in the Johnny Depp-led series, releasing in 2011. Both a sixth film with Kaya Scodelario and a spinoff film starring Margot Robbie are in development, and apparently there was a dog that was a recurring character in the first three films, which makes this video even better.

“This needs to be used as an actual ad for White Claw,” one commenter wrote.

The video has been liked more than 112,000 times, has over a thousand comments and has been reshared nearly 28,000 times already, which is really impressive.

White Claw is a hard seltzer brand that was launched in 2016, skyrocketing in popularity last summer. There are nine fruit-based flavors available, and they come in 12-ounce cans.
