The Studio C Scooby-Doo sketch pointed out the strangeness of the concept.

The recent Studio C Scooby-Doo sketch pointed out the oddity of the premise of the franchise.

A sketch comedy group designed as a clean alternative to Saturday Night Live, the troupe is affiliated with BYU and have a show airing on BYUtv. Many of the original cast members are friends with blogger Eli McCann, which is how I (Wesley) first learned of their existence.

They have a history of of sketches riffing off of popular recent movies including Harry Potter, Justice League and Star Wars, so with Scoob recently available for digital download or rental, this was no exception, and thus “Scooby-Doo Finds the Real Monster” was crafted.

The whole Mystery Inc gang was there (Shaggy Rogers, Scooby-Doo, Fred jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley) have captured the evildoing businessman Mr Winston, who is terrified of Scooby’s abilities to speak and understand English, levitate, and effortlessly swallow a six-foot-long sub sandwich. (Though he does have a point.)

Also, according to Velma, he can also drive the Mystery Machine, which would be a little alarming.

Actually, everything about this dog would be extremely alarming if he were real – and why does he have human teeth?! (According to Scooby-Doo fan Scott Brown, who helped with our Scoob fan review, these have been part of the character for basically forever, though that makes it no less frightening when you stop and think about it.)

Some of their other great sketches include “Every Fight Ever,” “Evil Memory Lapse” and “Flirting Academy.”
