Riverdale: What happened to Archie’s dog, Vegas?

With one throw away line from Betty and her diary, we can’t help but wonder what happened to Archie’s dog, Vegas, on Riverdale?

Riverdale fans, do you remember Archie’s dog, Vegas? Considering the pup has been in at least 13 episodes of the series, you would think that we would remember that Archie and Fred had a dog.

But if it weren’t for Betty talking about meeting Archie for the first time in the latest episode of Riverdale, “Lynchian,” we would have completely forgotten about Vegas. And with good reason to be honest.

Even if you are as much of a fan of this show as I am, you would be forgiven for forgetting about Vegas. After all, he has been missing in action throughout the fourth season of the show. In fact, the last episode the pup appeared in was the very first one of the season, “In Memoriam.”

Considering Vegas has never been a major aspect of the series, it is probably not that surprising that the pup hasn’t been seen in Season 4 of Riverdale. That being said, the pup was even given an origin story and was at Archie’s side when he was on the run (and got attacked by a bear). So, it makes sense that we would have questions about what happened to Vegas.

While we know Vegas was originally Archie’s dog, it seems that it was Fred who ultimately became the most attached to the pup. And with Fred gone, perhaps it was too hard to keep Vegas. If that’s the case, it’s pretty awful of Riverdale to cast the pup aside. And if that is not the case, then maybe the show needs to give us a better idea of where the dog has gone.

It is hard to see Riverdale as being a very dog-friendly place, but at the same time, the fact that Vegas was as much a member of the Andrews family as anyone else was/is means that his absence is all the more jarring.

We need to know what happened to Vegas. And why isn’t Archie enjoying quality time with his pup?
