With schools closed and children stuck at home, many celebs are taking to social media to help out by reading books. And Sarah Michelle Gellar is the latest to join the trend by reading Pig the Pug.

If you’re anything like me, then you are kind of loving watching different celebrities read children’s books on social media. While Josh Gad has been doing a special reading “hour” every evening over on Twitter, he is not alone in lending his voice. And the latest celebrity to step up and read is Sarah Michelle Gellar.

On Instagram, the actress shared a video of herself reading the book Pig the Pug by Aaron Blabey. Gellar is reading for a good cause, as she is looking to garner support for Save with Stories, which is working with No Kid Hungry to support food banks and other programs that will help children in need.

As dog lovers, we are here for Sarah Michelle Gellar reading Pig the Pug, especially since this book is about a rather greedy Pug named Pig and a very sweet Dachshund named Trevor. And while the story is very much a lesson in learning how to share and even be kind to others, I think the added commentary from the actress really made this a fun video.

It was sweet to see Gellar reading this book for a good cause, and hopefully we get to see her read a few more children’s books. In fact, considering this is actually part of a series of books revolving around this Pug, it would be a lot of fun to see her read a few more of these Pig the Pug books.

And you can always check out her Instagram account for more information about Save with Stories and the fundraiser they are running.
