Are you looking for something new to binge watch? As a dog lover, you may want to give FOX’s 9-1-1: Lone Star a watch now.

When it comes to finding a new show to watch, it can be hard to sift through all the different options out there. But if you are a dog lover, who also loves watching first responder series, then you definitely want to give 9-1-1: Lone Star a chance.

Here’s the thing, you’re not going to see a pup right away. In fact, we don’t even learn that Rob Lowe’s character, Owen Strand is a dog lover until the sixth episode when he has to save two girls from a dog (and figures out that the dog is actually trying to save his owner). And the fire station doesn’t end up getting their own furry friend until the eighth episode, which might make you wonder why we are suggestion this show.

The thing is that they make it clear by the end of the first season (there are only 10 episodes in this first go around) of 9-1-1: Lone Star that they really are animal lovers. And we love watching fellow animal lovers.

Watching the 126 (the primary fire station in the series) adopt this pup who is dealing with the same medical issue as their fire chief is utterly heartwarming. And having the pup be an integral part of one of the underlying storylines made it clear that this dog really is as much a part of the team as any of the firefighters spotlighted in the show.

After watching the entire first season, I can’t wait to for this show to come back and hopefully give us more of this pup’s story as well. Of course, it certainly helps that I really loved all of the main characters in this series, but I am definitely obsessed with the pup who has become a member of the squad.
