The new Scoob trailer highlights in the inclusion of Dynomutt!

The new Scoob trailer that dropped yesterday highlighted the inclusion of the superhero Blue Falcon and, much to our delight here at Dog O’Day, his sidekick Dynomutt.

Dynomutt had his own cartoon TV series from 1976-77 called Dynomutt, Dog Wonder; he was a robot dog that is a clumsy but effective sidekick to his master, the Blue Falcon. Similar to the situation with Underdog and Superman, it’s somewhat of a parody of the 1960s Batman series starring Adam West.

According to Deadline, Blue Falcon is voiced by Mark Wahlberg (Invincible, Mile 22), while Dynomutt is voiced by Ken Jeong (Community, 2019 Lady and the Tramp).

Scoob stars Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo, Will Forte (Saturday Night Live, The Last Man on Earth) as Shaggy Rogers, Zac Efron (High School Musical, Neighbors) as Fred, Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin, Diary of a Future President) as Daphne, and Amanda Seyfried (Mean Girls, The Art of Racing in the Rain) as Velma.

While the plot mainly revolves around how the Mystery Inc crew met and then got back together following a separation as young adults, which the first trailer looked at, in this trailer Shaggy and Scooby-Doo are zapped into space, where the perpetually-hungry dude and talking Great Dane encounter the crimefighters, which could come in handy against evildoer Dick Dastardly.

Kiersey Clemons, who played Darling in the live-action Lady and the Tramp remake, will voice Dee Dee, who seems to be associated with Blue Falcon and Dynomutt.

The rest of the trailer features lots of clever quips and lasers, promising a fun-filled summer flick that Warner Brothers is hoping to use as a springboard to re-introduce many of their background characters through the Scooby Movie Universe.

Scoob will hit theaters on Friday, May 15.
