When will the 2020 Beverly Hills Dog Show presented by Purina air? We’ll have to wait a bit until the fourth annual BHDS telecast of the show begins, but for the second consecutive year it will air on NBC.
Hosted by the Kennel Club of Beverly Hills, they have been hosting dog shows since 1965, much like the Kennel Club of Philadelphia does with the National Dog Show each year.
This year’s competition, produced by NBC Sports, was held February 29-March 1, and the past two Best in Show titles have to a Havanese from Menlo Park, California, called Bono (officially GCHG CH Oeste’s In the Name of Love), who is the winningest dog in the breed’s history with 90 BIS wins and counting, including claiming the Toy Group at last year’s 2019 WKC Dog Show, Lawton Dog Fanciers Association, the 2019 NDS and 2020 Westminster. Can someone else slow down his hot streak of overall titles?

Other Best in Show winners at Beverly Hills are King the Wire Fox Terrier in 2018 and inaugural winner Ripcord the Doberman in 2017.
Dog O’Day is happy to announce that the 2020 Beverly Hills Dog Show will air on NBC on Sunday, April 5 at 12:30 p.m. ET. Additionally, the NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) will re-air the 2020 Beverly Hills Dog Show twice, on Monday, April 6 at 9 p.m. ET and Tuesday, May 26 at 7 p.m. ET.
This year’s competition will be hosted by AKC judge and Dog Writers Association of America Hall of Famer David Frei and TV personality John O’Hurley (Seinfeld, Family Feud), whose picture book The Perfect Dog was recently adapted into a stage musical.
Joining them as part of the broadcast team are TV personality Maria Menounos on the red carpet, with longtime sports broadcaster and former tennis pro Mary Carillo inside the show ring and American Ninja Warrior co-host and former NFL player Akbar Gbaja-Biamila will be backstage.
“We all love our dogs, of course,” Frei said in a press release. “So we invite fans to celebrate these four-legged stars with us at the Beverly Hills Dog Show where they can cheer their favorites. After it’s over, hug your own dog and remind them they’re always Best in Show!”
Among the star-studded guests befitting any big event taking place in the Hollywood vicinity are Olympians Nastia Liukin (gymnastics, Beijing 2008) and Greg Louganis (diving, Los Angeles 1984 and Seoul 1988), current Miss America Camille Schrier, and actors Lauren Ash (Superstore), Brian Baumgartner (The Office), Reece Caddell (All That), Jade Catta-Preta (The Soup), Bo Derek, Parveen Kaur and Caitlin McGee (Bluff City).
Additionally, comedian Justine Marino, social media influencers Olivia Culpo and Ariana Madix, and singer/songwriter Ester Dean will also be in attendance.
