Highclere Castle of Downton Abbey fame gives us a little dog love on Instagram
If you watch Downton Abbey, then you likely recognize Highclere Castle as the setting of the series. And on Instagram, the real castle is getting in on the dog love with their own Dogs of Instagram post.
Downton Abbey has become as much a part of pop culture as Marvel movies or even The Crown. And one of the most iconic pieces of the series might just be Highclere Castle, the setting of the series.
Highclere Castle is as much a character in the series as any of the people. And considering it is an actual castle in the United Kingdom, it makes sense that it would have its own Instagram page.
So what does all of this have to do with dogs? That’s easy – they have a dog and they don’t mind sharing pictures of their pup on the Highclere Castle Instagram page.
On Jan. 20, the castle’s Instagram page shared a lovely Dogs of Instagram post featuring the castle pup, Alfie. In the picture, the castle can be seen prominently in the background, while Alfie can be seen laying in a field.
The gorgeous pup seems just as regal as the castle itself, and it makes sense that the Highclere Castle Instagram would be quick to point that out. In their post they say, “The frost has gone again and Alfie is sitting looking most regal and colour coordinating with the castle behind.”
As a fan of Downton Abbey and the elegant castle where the series is filmed, I love seeing posts like this, especially when there is a pup involved. Alfie is clearly a very good pup, and we love that Highclere Castle is willing to share a Dogs of Instagram post every once in a while.
We are totally here for dog posts like this and we hope to see more popping up on the Highclere Castle Instagram page.
