PetSmart might be open on New Year’s Eve, but it won’t be their usual schedule
The holidays are swiftly coming to an end, but there are still two big days left, New Year’s Eve and Day. So what does this mean for PetSmart?
When it comes to the holidays, we sometimes want to know when the stores we shop at are open or if they will be observing the holiday for themselves. And the same is true for PetSmart on New Year’s Eve.
While you might not think of a trip to PetSmart as a part of preparing for a New Year, there are a lot of reasons why you might be hitting the store. From needing to pick up more dog food to grabbing something to help keep your pup calm during the festivities, it might be important to know when the pet supply store will be open on New Year’s Eve.
Well you are in luck, not only are they open, but most stores will be operating from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec. 31, according to Holiday Shopping Hours.

It probably doesn’t come as a big surprise that PetSmart is open on New Year’s Eve, so it really is a matter of checking the actual store hours. And while 9 to 6 might seem like standard hours, we definitely recommend calling your local store to confirm that they are open before heading out. After all, the last thing you want to do is head over to pick something up and find out that they just closed.
And yes, they will also be open on New Year’s Day, although they are apparently opening a bit later in the morning (which makes sense after a night of celebrating the dawn of a New Year).
If you find that you need something for your pup, make sure to check before heading out. And if you want to read other dog related news, check out the rest of Dog O’Day for everything from celebrities with their dogs to adoption stories.
