In one short but special moment, Magnum P.I.’s ‘A Bullet Named Fate’ reminded viewers just how powerful dogs can be in one beautiful hospital scene.

If you have ever watched an episode of the Magnum P.I. reboot, then you know that things can get a bit dicey. And in the latest episode, ‘A Bullet Named Fate,’ one of Magnum’s friends and fellow private investigators found himself in a tight spot.

Harry Brown is a friend of Magnum who took on a job to help his fellow P.I. out. While on the case, Harry ends up being shot and rushed to the hospital. With his life on the line, Magnum took over the case in an effort to learn what went wrong and who shot his friend.

And while the focus of the episode was obviously on case and what happened, there is one scene that really stuck out for us. At one point, we get to see Harry in his hospital bed, with a pup in the bed with him. As the pup, which seems to be a Frenchie starts lays next to Harry, he begins licking his fingers. And perhaps unsurprisingly (as this is TV after all), we see the P.I. wake up following the surgery that saved his life.

While the Frenchie may not have been what saved his life, we can’t help but think that having the pup at his side is what helped to wake Harry up. Plus, if you watch the episode until the very end, you will once again see the pup show up, as he clearly remained by Harry’s side the whole time he was in the hospital.

It’s not often that we get to see a pup appear in a show like Magnum P.I., after all, these shows are more focused on the cases they are solving and the mysteries at hand. And yet in this instance, it seems that the show decided that this was the time to remind people of the power of a pup’s love.

Perhaps because of how little we see dogs making an appearance in shows like Magnum P.I., seeing this Frenchie on-screen made an impact. It was not exactly a jarring moment, but it was definitely one that stood out. And we are definitely okay with this.

Seeing this pup get a bit of the spotlight in such an emotional episode was definitely something we appreciate. While Magnum P.I. is already a dog friendly show, considering one of the main characters (Higgins) has two dogs that appear in almost every episode, this was definitely a special moment and one we couldn’t help but want to see more of.
