The 2019 CanAm Classic flyball tournament is this weekend in Indianapolis, and we’ve got the breakdown of the divisions.

The 2019 CanAm Classic flyball tournament is this weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Dog O’Day has the full breakdown of the divisions.

The CanAm Classic, now in its 11th year, is essentially the Daytona 500 or Super Bowl of flyball, a team relay sport that is the canine version of drag racing. It is run by NAFA, the more common acronym for the North American Flyball Association.

By our count, there are 71 clubs from the US and Canada represented this year, with 176 teams competing. The club with the most teams is Skidmarkz with eight.

(For more on the basics of flyball, see our primer.)

Each class – Regular, Open and Multibreed (no Veteran class racing is scheduled) groups similar teams into a division by their best qualifying seed times, while they try to go as close to the breakout time as possible within snapping it.
