Norman Pagenaud, the dog of 2019 Indy 500 winner Simon Pagenaud, got his face on the trophy.

Norman Pagenaud, a Jack Russell Terrier belonging to NTT IndyCar Series driver Simon Pagenaud, got his face on the Indianapolis 500 trophy.

Officially, the Borg-Warner Trophy is a cup with the likeness of each winner’s face, though there is also an individual trophy (nicknamed the “Baby Borg”) given to the winning driver as well.

It is this individual version that features Norman’s face alongside his dad’s, which was revealed by the official Borg-Warner Trophy Twitter account earlier this week. (We were not aware that, like the Stanley Cup or the Canadian Football League‘s Office Plant, the Indy 500 trophy was one of the inanimate objects that had a Twitter.)

Norman also got to party in Victory Lane following the big day during Memorial Day weekend, which he documented on his Instagram page. (He’s a very active Instagram pup with the handle @NormanPagenaud.)

Simon Pagenaud, driver of the No. 22 Menards Chevrolet for Team Penske, is a 35-year-old French driver in his ninth season, and the 2016 series champion.

He enters the 2019 series finale at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in title contention, third in the standings behind the American pair of Team Penske teammate Josef Newgarden and Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi.

For the season, Pagenaud has three wins, three poles, four podium finishes and an average finish of seventh, while for his career he has 14 wins, 14 poles, 32 podium finishes, 1,184 laps laps led and an average finish of eighth.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway just recently finished the NASCAR Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series’ Brickyard 400, the final event of the regular season, where Team Penske’s Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney both had good days, though Brad Keselowski was involved in a vicious early wreck that ended his race early.

The Firestone Grand Prix of Monterrey will be Sunday, September 22, at 3 p.m ET, with TV coverage on NBC.
