Gameday snacks are a must for football season, and our dogs need them, too.

Gameday snacks are a must during football season, whether that’s in the bleachers of a high school game on Friday night, watching college or Canadian football on Saturday, or the NFL on Sunday.

And our puppers need stuff they can safely munch on, too, right? (Loud chorus of agreement from our staff dogs.)

Thankfully, online pet superstore Chewy.com has the same mindset, and while those dogs who don’t really care for sports can slurp their Pupkin Spice Lattes, the rest of us can enjoy dog treats decorated like football jerseys.

To begin with, you preheat your oven to 375 degrees.

Next you add one cup flour, one egg, one tablespoon of peanut butter, one tablespoon of water and mix together until it forms a ball of dough.

Sprinkle out some flour on a clean flat surface and flatten the dough until it’s about a quarter of an inch thick. Then use a cookie cutter to make shapes out of the flattened dough (ideally a T-shirt cookie cutter would work best for this project, but whatever you have handy would do the trick).

Lightly oil a pan and bake the cookies for ten minutes.

To make the frosting, you start with four tablespoons of tapioca starch with four tablespoons of Greek yogurt and mix until creamy. Then you add one teaspoon milk, and mix again, pouring about half of the mix into one of those piping sleeves.

In a separate bowl, pour the remaining mixture and add whatever food coloring matches your favorite team. (Let’s say blue for the Dallas Cowboys.) Then pour the rest into another piping sleeve.

Once the cookies are done baking, let them cool about 10 to 15 minutes before frosting (home or away jerseys, whatever you feel like), and then set them in the refrigerator to harden.

Then it’s snack time! The cool thing about the design process is that it could work for any sport, depending on how well your artistic skills are. (Oklahoma City Thunder? Yup. St Louis Cardinals? Sure, why not. New York Rangers? Definitely!)

If your pet is more the cosplaying type who loves their superhero shows, then it shouldn’t be hard to make them into the colors of the Green Arrow or the Flash.
