Secret Life of Pets 2 drops final trailer packed with humor and action
The Secret Life of Pets 2 is set to hit theaters on June 7 and with less than a month until the premiere, the movie reveals a new trailer with more secrets, plus humor and action.
Animal lovers rejoice! The Secret Life of Pets 2 is almost here. This means a new adventure, more Max and Snowball, and of course new pets to get to know. And for those of us who are eagerly waiting for this film to drop, we can thank Illumination and Universal Pictures for understanding our excitement, as they dropped a brand new trailer to tide us over with.
Even though we were treated to the secret lives of our pets in the first Secret Life of Pets, it seems that there are still more secrets to uncover. And with new pets being introduced, there are all new adventures coming our way.
From a trip to a farm that introduces us to a new dog named Rooster, voiced by Harrison Ford, to Gidget being hailed as the queen of the cats for catching the “red dot,” this new trailer teased a lot more fun and humor. While Max is still the unofficial leader of the tribe of pets in many ways, it was nice to see the other pets getting equal time to shine. And Rooster was definitely a scene stealer every time he made an appearance on our screens, especially when he gets on the top of the car to howl and even invites Max to join him.
Perhaps what really has me sold on this movie is the fact that there is so much heart to these films and that was especially clear in the title cards that shared a very important message as the trailer progressed. With a message that states, “no matter how small, or how scared, each of us has an inner hero waiting to be unleashed,” The Secret Life of Pets 2 is ready to make us laugh, cry, and remember that our pets have their own lives that are an adventure all to themselves.
As a huge fan of the first movie, I am super excited to see where Max and the gang go next. I want to see more of Snowball’s transformation into a superhero bunny. I want to see how Max and Duke are doing as family after the long road to friendship they had in the original movie. And of course I can’t wait to see Gidget being hailed as a cat queen, because that scene looks amazing.
For 2019, The Secret Life of Pets 2 is the most anticipated animated movie sequel for me and this new trailer is a clear indication of why that is. After all, it’s not every day that we get a family friendly movie that appeals as much to the adults as it does the kids (and considering the entire theater I was in for the first movie was all adults without children, I can’t imagine the sequel being much different).
