Bark-Andre Furry asked his girlfriend to the prom, and Twitter went wild.
Vegas Golden Knights superfan Bark-Andre Furry asked his girlfriend to the prom, and Twitter went wild.
Of course, the internet does love adorable promposals, and cute dogs, so put them together and it was inevitable to bring a smile to many people’s faces. This is why social media is so wonderful sometimes.
Bark, a Jack Russell Terrier named after Golden Knights goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, posted the following message Thursday, May 1: “Dear Goldie, will you go to the prom with me? [] YES [] NO”
Being the fans of country music that we are, of course we had George Strait’s classic “Check Yes or No” stuck in our heads after that.
Goldie, a Yorkie who belongs to a Golden Knights superfan named Logan – AKA “The Girl With the Hat” – replied yes, but like the girl in Brad Paisley’s “We Danced,” she had one condition.
“Of course, Bark! I’d be honored. But you have to bring me flowers.”
Bark was ecstatic, and who can blame him?
“She said YES!!!” he barked loudly for all the world to hear shortly afterward.
That, of course, got Chad Brock’s “Yes!” stuck in our heads.
The comment section blew up with admiration. Bonnie praised “an old fashioned romance,” while Debbie couldn’t take the cuteness. Numerous GIFs of hearts, puppies, and goofy Jeremy Renner expressions followed. “Omg, can we call it ‘pawm’?” a user named Wes )asked (not ours, though I really wish I’d thought of that first).
The news even got the attention of reporter Maria Silva at Las Vegas news station Fox5.
The event that everyone’s favorite pupper couple is attending is the Joy Prom Las Vegas, an event for teens and adults with cognitive and physical disabilities, and it will be held Saturday, May 25, at the M Resort. More information can be found on the event’s website.
It should make for enchanted moments, for sure.
While Bark and Goldie’s Knights may have been eliminated from the playoffs in the first round, there are still a ton of good doggos cheering on their favorite teams.
