The cast and crew of Good Omens are gearing up for their series debut on Amazon, which means getting the inside scoop on the apocalypse with the help of puppies.

April 30 was National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, and across social media, celebrities and animal shelters alike worked to raise attention for animals searching for their forever homes. One group who decided to sit down with puppies as part of this endeavor was the cast and crew of Good Omens, the new apocalyptic series heading to Amazon Prime on May 31.

In a one minute video posted to Twitter courtesy of BuzzFeed, fans of the Good Omens book series got to see author Neil Gaiman and cast members Jon Hamm, David Tennant, Michael Sheen and Douglas MacKinnon talking about what they would do in an apocalypse. However, what makes the video so special is the fact that they used puppies in the interview (or you know, baby hellhounds) to get the truth out of the men.

While the discussion revolved around who would survive a real apocalypse (Jon Hamm) and who they might like to spend the apocalypse with (Michael Sheen went with Neil Gaiman because of his storytelling abilities), we were all about the puppies. And honestly, it seemed like so was everyone else.

Whether they were holding the puppies or the camera zoomed in on one of the adorable pups, it was clear that this segment was as much about Good Omens, as it was the puppies a.k.a. tiny hellhounds. So it makes sense that one of the questions the cast and crew were asked was what they would choose to name their own personal hellhound.

Jon Hamm kicked things off by saying he would go with the name Steve (doesn’t seem like a fierce hellhound name to us, but what do we know). David Tennant chose the name Gore (we can work with that), and Douglas MacKinnon named his Ollie. Now I don’t know about you but I can’t imagine a trio of hellhounds running around with those names, but I guess they work.

Clearly the Good Omens cast has a thing for puppies and Hamm himself said he has an affinity for the pups, which we are all for. In fact, we love seeing celebrities sharing their animal appreciation with us, especially when it comes in the form of adorable interviews like this one.

Hopefully once Good Omens debuts on Amazon Prime we will actually get to see a hellhound or two running around. And maybe their name really will be Steve or Gore. Either way, we are excited for the series and love the fact that the cast and crew sat down to do this interview with these adorable puppies.
