The cast of Netflix’s Queer Eye has given the world some of the biggest feels since their show debuted in 2018. And now they are helping a rescue dog too.

In honor of National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, the cast of Netflix’s reality series Queer Eye has stepped up to do what they do best – give a magical makeover. And this is no ordinary makeover, this is a rescue dog makeover.

If you are looking for the cutest thing ever this week, then look no further, because the Queer Eye cast is here for us all. In a video shared by the Netflix Twitter account, we get to see all of the members of the Fab Five do something for a pup named Lacey, who is a basset hound, beagle, corgi mix. And yes she really is the cutest thing ever!

According to BuzzFeed, Lacey was actually rescued from a shelter that euthanizes animals that are not wanted or adopted quickly. We really can’t imagine anyone not wanting Lacey, but of course, there are a lot of pets that end up in shelters because people no longer want the animal they took home or can no longer care for them.

As Lacey’s makeover with the Queer Eye cast begins, she starts off with the food portion of the day thanks to Antoni. This means that we get to see Antoni talking about making pet snacks with peanut butter for the pup. And these are no ordinary snacks, these are “snicky snacks” with texture. (As a reminder, if you make peanut butter snacks for your pup at home, make sure that it does not contain xylitol, which is an artificial sweetener that dogs need to avoid.)

As part of pampering pup self-care, Jonathan was next with a little bit of a paw massage. According to our beauty guru, creamy coconut oil is dog-friendly and can help our pooches prevent dry paws that chip and crack. It helps that our pups can still lick their paws afterwards.

Thanks to Karamo, Lacey was reminded that she is worthy and deserving of love just like any other pup out there. He made it clear to her that she really is a “good girl,” and we totally agree with him.

And if you are wondering how Bobby will help our rescue pup, have no fear, as he was quick to explain the importance of covers for dog beds and pillows that are removable so that they can be washed thoroughly. He also pointed out the importance of baskets for dog toys and leashes and other pup products.

Finally Tan helped Lacey with her fashion choices. In order to make her day of pampering complete, he helped her find the perfect studded black collar with a matching leash.

While all of this pampering was enough to make us smile, what brings a tear to the eye is the fact that the Fab Five chipped in to cover the cost of adopting Lacey. And if you are wondering what happened after her glamorous pup-over, have no fear because someone did in fact adopt Lacey and give her a new home.

We are all for pampering pooches and it is especially nice to see the Queer Eye cast stepping up to help a rescue dog in such a big way. National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day is important for so many reasons, especially with how many animals end up in shelters every day. And having the Fab Five do their part to help a pup in need reminds us why we need them in our lives and on the Netflix screens.
