Akbar Gbajabiamila prepped for the Beverly Hills Dog Show by doing special push-ups
If you watch American Ninja Warrior than you likely know who Akbar Gbajabiamila is. And this weekend, fans will get to seem him working with the Beverly Hills Dog Show in a big way.
Akbar Gbajabiamila is a former NFL player, who has not only been co-hosting American Ninja Warrior alongside Matt Iseman, but he is also an NFL Network analyst. But now, he is taking on a new role, just in time for the Beverly Hills Dog Show.
For this year’s third annual Beverly Hills Dog Show, Gbajabiamila is taking on the role of a digital contributor. According to TV Insider, the analyst will be giving viewers behind-the-scenes looks at what is happening at the show.
While we are all very excited to see what he does with this role and how he gives us the inside scoop on the competition, we were much more interested in how he is preparing for this new role. And thanks to the Twitter account for the Beverly Hills Dog Show, we now know.
In a tweet posted on April 16, we get to see Akbar Gbajabiamila hard at work getting ready for the big show. This included doing push-ups on the red carpet. But these weren’t any push-ups, these were special, canine assisted push-ups.
The video shared by the Beverly Hills Dog Show shows something we would expect to see from American Ninja Warrior as Gbajabiamila does a number of push-ups with a dog laying on his back. And the fact that he is whistling while he does them makes it that much better. Clearly the former NFL player is remaining in playing form if he can make this look and sound easy.
Of course, we also love how he pretends the pup isn’t even there, as he says that he thinks there may be something on his back. And just before the dog gets off of his back, he points out that now there is more than just dog yoga, there is also dog push-ups.
Although we can’t imagine doing push-ups with a dog on our back (who are we kidding, we don’t do push-ups), Gbajabiamila certainly makes it look easy. Hopefully all this prep work has him ready for the big day, as he gives us a look behind-the-scenes at the Beverly Hills Dog Show.
The Beverly Hills Dog Show airs on April 21 at 1 p.m. ET. Tune in and check out all of the furry competitors.
