At the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Glenn Close was accepting the Maltin Modern Master Award when her pup, Pip, came on stage to help.
We have all heard the expression that dogs are a man’s best friend, and that sentiment is certainly true. And one pup proved that he completely agrees with this theory when he ran on stage to help his owner, Glenn Close, accept an award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF).
As Town and Country reported, the actress was accepting the Maltin Modern Master Award on February 3, when 12 minutes into her speech Pip decided to join his owner on stage. At the time, Close was sitting and talking about her career when Pip decided to hop into her lap. While the actress acknowledged her pup, she continued with her talk all with the help of her furry friend at her side.
And we think this is too cute. Of course, the pictures support how cute the moment was as well.
This is not the first time that Pip has been a scene stealer, as he was Glenn Close’s canine companion for the Lincoln Center Gala, and he even joined her for a curtain call in 2017. And that’s not all, as Pip even has his own Instagram account.
While there are plenty of celebrity dogs, we would have to say that Pip has proven to be one of the more visible, from walking red carpets and storming the stage, to his social media presence. And it certainly helps that his mom is Glenn Close and she actually appears on his Instagram account.
While we certainly can’t blame Pip for being obsessed with his owner, I’m sure our obsession is much different from his. Instead, his affection is all about loving his human and we are 100 percent supportive of that. And speaking of 100, let’s not forget that Glenn Close once played Cruella de Vil in a live action101 Dalmatians, which is also the only one of her films Pip has seen according to the actress, who shared that her pup was “glued to the screen.”
We love seeing celebrity pups in action, and we definitely appreciate the fact that Close’s dog is willing to run on stage to be with his owner as she accepts an award. And we can’t wait to see what else Pip has in store for us this year, right alongside Close herself.
