A dog bar is coming to Orlando in 2019. The place which is a cross between a dog park and a bar is called Boozehounds, and is said to be the first dog bar in Central Florida.

We all love being able to take our dog with us to places when we want to get out. And while there are certainly dog friendly options out there, in Orlando, Florida they are about to get the perfect place for dog lovers – a dog bar with a dog park.

According to the Bradenton Herald, Boozehounds is the creation of Paul Jaszczenski and Lainie Pekich, dog lovers who were looking for a place where they could have a good time, enjoy a drink or two, and still bring their dog. And of course, they wanted to make sure their dog would enjoy themselves too, which is how the idea of the dog bar meets dog park was born.

The dog park portion of Boozehounds will feature everything from wide open grassy spaces and activity equipment for dogs to climb and jump, to picnic benches and splash pads. For the bar area, the space is going to be approximately 2,000 square feet with multiple wide-screen televisions and a full service bar that features 12 different beers on tap. Think about it as a sports bar for dogs and their owners.

On Instagram, you can see renderings of Boozehounds that feature drawings of what the bar and park area look like, and clearly it is the ultimate destination for dog lovers. However, with this not being your every day dog park or bar, there are age restrictions and even membership fees.

On the website for the dog bar, they explain that you can purchase a single day pass, a monthly membership or an annual one. And while that allows you and one dog entrance, if you have more than one pup there is an additional fee. So if you want to check them out after they open, the single day pass is just $10, and the yearly membership is $149, which allows for unlimited access.

Of course the age requirements for Boozehounds is not just for the humans, as there are dog requirements as well. You must be at least 16 years old to enter the dog bar and park, and dogs have to be over four months old.

There are rules for both the humans and pups alike, with most of the rules being common sense, including playing nice and clean up after your pup. As with any dog park, your pup needs to be able to socialize with other dogs and people, and they need to be up-to-date on all vaccinations. The last thing you want is to get another pup sick or for another dog to get yours sick.

From the website to their Instagram account, Boozehounds looks like it will be the place to visit for dog lovers in Orlando. In fact, it sounds like the perfect place to hang out with your friends, your dog, and enjoy a drink.
