This week, Will Trent kicked off with a very interesting case. And it saw Angie back on the job, creating awkwardness between her and Will. This also meant that we did not have any Betty to start this episode off with. And ultimately, we never got to see our girl at all in this episode.

That being said, that doesn’t mean that we were free of dog content as things began in episode four of Will Trent. In fact, “Floor Is Lava” gave us a suspect who tried to kill some one as a CIA operative. Or at least they thought that was what they were doing, but actually they were a dog groomer being used by someone trying to steal state secrets. So we still got to see Will and Faith around other dogs, even if Betty was MIA.

Honestly, this was a very case heavy episode. Although we did have a confrontation between Will and Angie that we needed to see.

We needed Will and Angie to have a talk. Everything that went down in season two destroyed them. And it wasn’t fair for Angie to blame Will for destroying their lives together when she did something illegal. How she could expect him to look away when she broke the law is shocking.

There was never a moment where we thought Betty would fit into this episode. And that’s pretty sad. Because we love our Betty watch. We are always on the hunt for her. It’s one of the big reasons we watch the show.

Although this was an entirely Betty free episode, it definitely felt like she was with us, at least in spirit, especially when Will was reflecting on his relationship with Angie while talking with the new ADA. As she mentioned the fact that she and her ex are dealing with custody of their cat, you could almost tell that Will was thinking about him and Angie, and their relationship to Betty.

This was a great episode of Will Trent, even with no Betty. But we can’t wait for her to pop up again.
