Our latest episode of Will Trent, "One of Us Now," took Will undercover to try and put a stop to a group that was not only murdering people, but also essentially kidnapping children. And pretty quickly, we saw our agent being held captive after he gets in a bit of trouble while undercover.

For a while in this episode of Will Trent, we didn’t think we were going to get any Betty moments out of this episode. After all, Will was in a bit of trouble in this episode.

However, we did not need to fear a lack of Betty because we didn’t just get one epic Betty moment we got two. Here’s the thing about the Betty scenes in this episode, one of them was part of a hallucination, that was truly hysterical.

In the scene where Will is being held captive, he ends up being drugged and having a weird hallucination where Betty could speak. And apparently Betty has a British accent when given a voice to speak with, which was very bizarre. I would have expected maybe a southern accent, but not a British one.

Will Trent gave us a Disco dancing scene with Betty and an emotional moment between Betty and Will that really touched the heart

But then we had the real scene, the scene grounded in reality. This is the scene where Will has gotten home from work and sees that Betty has apparently had an accident of some kind. Immediately we knew that Will is going to have guilt over the fact that while he was undercover, his poor Betty hurt herself. As Will walks in the door to home, Nico was there with Betty wearing a cone of shame.

It turns out that Betty chipped a tooth while eating one of her bones, and ended up having to have it extracted. And since she is an older dog, it can take a little while to heal. Interestingly enough, when Betty sees Will she turns away from him. And while Nico says it could just be embarrassment, we know that there have been issues in the relationship between Will and Betty. Will turned away from her when he was struggling.

Honestly, I feel like Betty was showing her hurt to her human. She was upset about the way he treated her before going off on an undercover mission. You can’t tell me that she didn’t feel abandoned by him. But, as soon as he apologizes to her, it seems like she’s willing to listen.

And in a very emotional moment, Will tells her that she is his ride or die. Betty and Will are each other’s person. Betty may be a dog, but that means nothing, because she is Will's family.

There is no denying that the scene with the disco dancing and Betty talking in a British accent was exactly what this episode needed. It really added to the overall moment because we know that it’s a hallucination, but it also has a touch of levity that really added to the story and what Will was dealing with. At the same time, that’s not the moment that we are going to remember. We are going to remember the moment when Will made it clear that it is always going to be him and Betty together.

Honestly, this was an amazing episode of Will Trent. And while the case was the important aspect of it all, it was Will realizing just how important some of the people in his life are, as well as his reconnection with his dog, that made this episode so good.
