After an episode that gave us no Betty moments and didn’t even mention our beloved pup, this week’s episode of Will Trent really delivered. Not only did we start episode 10 with Betty, but we actually got multiple moments with her. Plus, we have to point out that there was actually a conversation about dogs that really got us thinking as dog lovers and owners.
In the opening scene of this Will Trent episode, we get to see Will and Marion having a special moment in the morning after they apparently spent the night together. And in this scene Will learns that it’s actually Marion‘s birthday coming up, so he wants to do something special for her. And he uses Betty to convince her that they should definitely have a date that night. It was a super cute moment and it made it clear that Betty is a vital aspect of Will‘s life.
Then we had a secondary moment where we get to see Betty as well is getting ready for that date night, and in the final moments we also have Betty there as Will and Marion celebrate her birthday. Basically it was a reminder that no matter what relationship will is involved in, Betty is a big part of his life. And it’s something that we love to see.
Will Trent delivered with the Betty scenes in episode 10
The secondary moment that made such a difference in this episode was when a murder victim’s ghost became part of Will’s subconscious. And as he tried to solve her murder, it was like they were talking to each other. And in her frustration with him, she says to him that dogs do not go to heaven. It was a dig at the idea that when Betty is no longer with Will, he will never see her again . However, in the final scene between these two characters, she turns to him and says I was lying, there really are dogs in heaven. And he says he knows that it was a lie.
Honestly, we have seen the movie All Dogs Go to Heaven, and we believe it. We believe that dogs go to heaven. So we really do appreciate the fact that this conversation even happened at all.
This was definitely an interesting episode of Will Trent, because not only were there some emotional aspects to this episode, but we were also reminded that Will has a secret that he’s keeping from his partner, and it will directly impact her. Honestly, there’s a lot going on in Will’s life and this episode was a reminder of that. At the same time, it was also a great episode as fans of Will Trent and Betty.
It will be very interesting to see how things play out moving forward. And we really hope that we get to see more of Marion and Betty as well.
