The season three finale of Will Trent was definitely action packed. We had hostage situations, terrorists, a biological threat and plenty of shootings. But we also had family.

One of the things that makes Will Trent so special, is the fact that it has a theme of family throughout. It’s as much about the cases being solved, as it is the relationship between the people.

In the season three finale, we got to see quite a bit of family dynamics at play for Will. Not only were Nico and Betty trapped at a hospital in lockdown with a biological contaminate, but we know that Nico caught whatever was going around. This left Will on the outside looking in, even as he had to deal with terrorists and trying to put a stop to a biological attack.

Although we did not get a lot of Betty in this episode, we did get to see her in some great scenes. Not only did we see her at the very beginning with Nico at the hospital, but we also saw her at the very end with both Angie and Will. When Will gets to the hospital, Angie is holding Betty for comfort. And then in the end, we also see Will holding onto Betty for his own comfort.

The thing about this episode is that multiple people‘s lives were on the line and by the end of the episode we had at least two of our main characters in the hospital. And Ormewood is going to be heading to the hospital based on that final scene as well.

Will Trent wraps up Season 3 with a bang and a Betty

I think the best aspect of this episode was Will getting to talk to his father and learn more about him. It actually set up for a new chapter in season four. It would be nice to see Will getting a chance to connect with this man that he knew nothing about. But at the same time, it was also rather devastating to see him realize that Amanda is his family as well. While it has been clear the whole series that she is important to him, it was that moment in the hospital with her that really cemented the fact that we know he feels that she is his family.

This episode of Will Trent was jam packed with amazing scenes and moments. There were moments that made us literally gasp out loud, and there were some that broke our heart. But that’s what made this episode so brilliant. It not only gave us a solid conclusion to the storyline that started in the penultimate episode, but it actually gave us potential stories for season four. It will be interesting to see where the series goes next, especially with multiple people dealing with health complications that could potentially cost them their lives.

Here’s hoping that everyone comes back in season four. And of course, we want to see more Betty. Season three was amazing in terms of giving us Betty content, but we want to see how they keep it going in season four.
