This season of Will Trent has definitely been interesting. The dynamic with Will now that Angie really isn’t in the picture for him is very different. But getting to see him interact with a new potential love interest is definitely something we appreciate. During "No Faith In Second Chances," we actually got exactly that.
And it is that interaction with a new love interest that gave us our Betty moment of this Will Trent episode. Will decided to cook dinner for the ADA, Marion Alba. And as they are cleaning up, Betty is sitting behind them in her cute little fit for the night. As they are cleaning up, we hear Will say to his pup not to beg. But of course, Marion is also a pet parent, and she points out that if ever there’s something to beg for it’s the salmon that Will had cooked.
We appreciate the fact that Marion actually decided to give Betty a small piece of the salmon in that moment. It was a lot like she was trying to get in Betty’s good graces. And we love to see it, because it shows the potential for her to be sticking around. If she is trying to connect with Betty, that means we might see them together in the future, so we want them to get along.
We didn’t get a lot of Betty in this Will Trent episode, but at least she was there in the moment
This was not a very Betty heavy episode. But for a lot of reasons, that’s okay. Sometimes, we need to be okay with less because it has to make sense for the storyline. With the way Will Trent seems to be very intentional with their smaller details, we want to make sure that they aren’t just stuffing Betty into an episode for no reason.
It made perfect sense that this would be a short Betty moment. Overall, it just worked. But yes, we do want more Betty in the future so we really hope that we get more extensive Betty scenes.
