Episode 12 of Will Trent saw our leading man dealing with the trauma left over from what went down in episode 11. In that episode, Will killed a young boy. It was an accidental shooting, and one that has definitely shaken him and his confidence in himself.

In this new episode of Will Trent, “You’re the Worst Person in the World,” we did see Will in a therapy session, but it’s clear that he doesn’t want to be here. And that means that he’s not really taking this seriously. He is burdened with guilt over this loss, and we don’t blame him. He was literally covered in a 14-year-old‘s blood for hours as he relived what happened, with others and with himself.

At the same time, his relationship with Faith is at an all-time low. And because of his trauma over the shooting, he and Marion seem to be going their separate ways. Things are just not going well for Will Trent.

Because of his trauma, we also noticed that he really wasn’t getting any comfort from Betty. Usually, we expect to see him and Betty coming together as a unit. Even in the small glimpses that we get of her, she’s always his faithful companion. But that’s not what we saw in this episode. Yes Betty was at his side, even when he didn’t seem to want her there locked out of the bathroom, but it was clear that he was not taking comfort in her.

And I have to point out that this episode set things up for Will to go undercover. And at first, my thought was what does this mean for Betty. Who is going to take care of Betty? However, we actually know the answer to that. Nico is usually the one who takes care of Betty when Will is not home. So that begs the question, did he talk to Nico and explain that he’s going undercover?

I feel like his trauma is causing him to disassociate from the people in his life. And unfortunately, this includes Betty.

I think the Betty moments in this episode were very important. Not only did we get to see our girl Betty, which we always love, but we also got to see a better picture of the trauma that Will is dealing with because of how he interacted with his dog. His lack of connection to her was all we needed to see to realize that he is struggling. Will Trent is not OK.
