Just as it is with humans, hydration is important for pets, especially during the hot summer months. But many pets don't drink enough water as it is. Pet water fountains can encourage our pets to drink more water. If the water is moving and aerated, it can be more appealing to pets, particularly cats. Additionally, pet water fountains often come with filters to keep the water fresh and clean.
However, not all pet water fountains are created equal in terms of materials and quality. For example, fountains made of plastic can cause bacterial and slime growth. Plastic can become scratched over time, leading to crevices where bacteria can grow.

What is the Brook fountain?
The Brook fountain is the first all-glass pet water fountain, setting a new standard in pet hydration and hygiene. The most common pet fountain materials are plastic, ceramic, and stainless steel. But these materials fall short in at least a few categories of things you would want in a fountain for your pet:

My experience with the Brook fountain
I received the Brook fountain to try out with my pets (three cats and a dog). My dog, Penny, has her own water bowl and doesn't like to share with the cats. But I was excited to try out the Brook fountain with my cats. I've never used a cat fountain before, but I had been reading about how a lot of cats prefer to drink water from a fountain. And having three cats can cause their water to get dirty really easily and I have to change it a lot. So I've been wanting to give them a fountain where they would always have fresh water.
When I received the Brook fountain, I was surprised at how easy it was to put together. There were assembly instructions included, but also a QR code to scan to watch a video of how to assemble it. Either way, assembly was really easy and took only a few minutes. The fountain was sturdy and it looked great.
Then it came time to fill it up and plug it up to see if it works. Keep in mind that being made of glass, the bowl can get pretty heavy when filled with water. Brook recommends putting the bowl where you want it and then using a pitcher to fill it up, to avoid spills or accidentally dropping the bowl.
Once I filled it with water, I turned it on. There are components you can install to adjust the flow level to help your pets get used to the flowing water. But even once I adjusted the fountain to the highest flow level, I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet this fountain is! The pump is less than 25 decibels, so I can't even hear it unless I'm standing right beside it.
It looks great in my home, but more importantly, my cats seem to like it too, now that they are used to it. I'm glad to know that they have safe and fresh drinking water at all times.
Keep in mind that the particle filter will need to be replaced monthly, and the activated carbon filter every two weeks.
