Ahead of the landmark decision in his court case against The Sun, Prince Harry decided to get out in his (new-ish) home state of California and visit with firefighters and their therapy dogs. Considering the wildfires in Southern California, that have ravaged Los Angeles and the surrounding counties, it makes perfect sense for celebrities to go out and do what they can to boost morale. And that’s exactly what happened with this particular visit by the Duke of Sussex.
According to People Magazine on January 21, a series of photos of Prince Harry with the therapy dogs and firefighters was posted by the Salinas Fire Department. There are pictures of Prince Harry meeting the dogs (honestly these are our favorite pictures), and also talking to the firefighters. Plus there is a posed picture of the Duke with the whole group.
Considering that he and his young family live in California and have seen the impact of these devastating fires firsthand, it does make sense that he is doing this. In the post which was shared to Instagram, the fire department wrote, “In an inspiring turn of events, they [the firefighters and therapy dogs] also had the opportunity to meet Prince Harry, who is known for his philanthropic work and advocacy on various social issues, including disaster relief. This encounter not only boosted their morale but also emphasized the importance of community and collaboration in the face of such devastating challenges.”

Prince Harry visits with firefighters and therapy dogs in California
Knowing that Prince Harry is a philanthropist, this visit made perfect sense. And of course, we do know he has a love for animals. Not only does he have his own dogs at home, but we have seen him interact with dogs and therapy dogs on any number of occasions.
We really appreciate the fact that he is getting out into the community to do what he can to offer his support at such a difficult time. Whether that means helping to serve food to people who have been displaced, reaching out to the firefighters who are relentlessly working to put out these fires and keep people safe, or even opening his home with Duchess Meghan to friends and family who need a safe place to stay, it is clear that he is doing what he can to make a difference. And we expect nothing less.
We really love this post from Salinas FD, and this news in general. And as fans of Prince Harry, we hope to see even more pictures of him with dogs in the community. Perhaps next he can visit a rescue or shelter and remind people of all the dogs that have been displaced and are either looking to be reconnected with their families or to help them find new ones. and if he happens to bring home a rescue dog, who could blame him?
