Will Trent has officially returned for its second season on ABC (and next day on HULU) and it started with a literal bang. For us, we love not only the investigations and mysteries, but of course we tune in for what we call Betty watch. If you don't know what that means, it is basically our run down of what Betty brought to the episode.

In the case of the second season premiere, our Betty watch happened right off the bat. And while we did get a glimpse of her in the final moments of the episode as well, it was really all about those first few minutes.

To kickstart Season 2 of Will Trent, it seems that Will is trying to connect with his heritage and that means learning Spanish so that he can feel more connected to his mother. And it turns out that his class had to do a presentation about family, while speaking the language. Of course, that meant that Will had to talk about himself.

Betty made her presence known as soon as Will Trent kicked off the second season

In talking about his family, Will opened up about being a foster child and how he was taking the Spanish class to connect to his mother. But he realized pretty quickly that the class was not impressed with his story, so he quickly bent down and picked up Betty to introduce her to the class and let them all know that his dog is his family.

The fact that Will acknowledges that Betty is his family is amazing. It is proof that he has truly grown in the time that the show has been off the air (because the story has in fact jumped forward by about six months at this point). And honestly, it was a great moment for the characters that we loved.

A lot happened in this episode and some of what happened was rough. But the fact that they made it clear that Betty is a big part of Will's life was really important. It reminded everyone that Betty is just as important to the story as well, and that she has an impact on our leading man.

We can't wait for the next episode of Will Trent for both the continuation of the storyline from the premiere and to see how Betty gets her time to shine.
