McDonald's is one of the biggest fast-food chains on the planet. That's why we were all so excited about the new Collector Cups featured in the brand's Collector's Meal.

Touted as an "adult happy meal," each meal features your entree with the choice between a Sausage Egg McMuffin, a Big Mac, or a 10-piece Chicken Nugget along with fries or a hashbrown and a drink of your choice. Each meal also comes with a cup but they're wrapped so it's blind-bag style which makes it more fair.

Ultimately, you don't know what you're getting so you could end up with multiples of the same cup or end up with all different ones. It's a game of chance and that's part of why people are going so gaga over them.

However, the thing that is blowing people away is just how much these are being resold for online if you're looking for a particular one, especially if they're Hello Kitty or Snoopy.

How much are the McDonald's Collector Cups reselling for?

While a few publications have covered this, this one from the New York Post features multiple different price points that people are charging for these. In the article, there were figures starting at $11.00 all the way up to over $1200. Honestly, it's truly amazing to see just how much people are willing to pay.

In doing some research on my own, I saw that some of the Hello Kitty or Peanuts cups are selling for between $40-60 dollars on eBay. While eBay is the website most of us think of when it comes to reselling, I'm sure other sites are also racking in the dough. Either way, this feels like a phenomenon that will keep going until the cups are finally gone.

While I have yet to purchase a meal for myself, I do think that I'd like to get the Hello Kitty or the Peanuts cup when I grab one. However, there are so many great ones in this set that most of us would be happy if we didn't end up with two of the same cups. Regardless, it does feel like this is becoming an even bigger deal than McDonald's ever thought it would be.
